Blindfold BlackJack is a fully accessible BlackJack game for both sighted and visually impaired people, designed for rapid audio play.
You control this game using iPhone gestures. At any time, you can hear the most recent help by swiping down with 3 fingers.
First, place your bet by tapping: each one finger tap is $1, each two finger tap is $5, each three finger tap is $25 and each four finger tap is $100.
To clear your bet, swipe down, and enter a new bet. To repeat the bet from your last hand, swipe left. To place your bet, swipe up.
Next, two cards are dealt to you and two to the dealer.
You will hear both of your cards, and one of the dealer’s cards.
To draw another card, tap the screen with one finger.
To stop drawing cards and let the dealer play, swipe down with one finger.
To double down, using 2 fingers, tap the screen twice.
To split when both cards are the same, using 2 fingers, swipe down.
To hear the dealer’s cards and your cards, and how much you’ve’ bet, and what your current balance is, shake the phone.
To play again, swipe up with one finger.
If you and the dealer have the same score, it’s a draw – you don’t win or lose.
If you get a blackjack, you win one and one-half times your bet. For example, if you bet $2, you get $3 more.
If you score more than the dealer, you win the bet. If you bet $2, you get $2 more.
If the dealer scores more than you, you lose the bet.
When it tells you how much you won, your winnings do not include your bet. So if you bet $2, and you win the hand, you’ll hear that you won $2.
The game comes with 25 chips and each chip is worth one dollar (or one pound or one euro, based on where you are).
For each day you play, you’ll get an additional 5 chips.
If you run out of chips and you don’t want to wait until the next day to get more chips, you can buy chips as an in-app upgrade.
To buy more chips, swipe left with 3 fingers after the hand is over, or use the Buy Chips option in the SETTINGS screen.
If you buy the unlimited chip in-app upgrade, then you are first given 200 chips.
At any time, if you have less than 200 chips, you can swipe left with 3 fingers to get another 200 chips at no additional cost.
When you win with a blackjack or 5 card charlie, to post your success to facebook or twitter, tap twice with 2 fingers.

Blackjack Rules

The object of blackjack is to beat the dealer. To beat the dealer the player must first not bust (go over 21) and second either outscore the dealer or have the dealer bust. Here are the full rules of the game.
Blackjack may be played with one to eight decks of 52-card decks. Audio BlackJack currently uses only one deck of cards, and reshuffles when it gets close to the end of the deck.
Aces may be counted as 1 or 11 points, 2 to 9 according to card value, and tens and face cards count as ten points.
The value of a hand is the sum of the point values of the individual cards. Except, a “blackjack” is the highest hand, consisting of an ace and any 10-point card, and it outranks all other 21-point hands.
Prior to getting your cards, you must bet. You can bet any amount, up to the amount of chips you have.
After the you have bet, the dealer will give two cards to you and two cards to himself. One of the dealer cards is dealt face up, the other remains hidden.
 
Then you play with the following choices:
Stand: You don’t draw any new cards.
Hit: You can keep drawing more cards until you decide to stand. If this card causes the your total points to exceed 21 (known as “busting”) then you lose.
Double-down: You double your bet and you get one, and only one, more card.
Split: If you have a pair, or any two 10-point cards, then you may double your bet and separate your cards into two individual hands. The dealer will automatically give each card a second card. Then, you may hit, stand, or double normally.
If you get a ten and ace after splitting, then it counts as 21 points, not a blackjack. You may keep re-splitting up to a total of four hands.
After your turn is over, the dealer will turn over his facedown card. If the dealer has 16 or less, then he will keeping drawing cards until he has at least 17, or has busted.
If the dealer goes over 21 points, you win.
If the dealer does not bust, then the higher point total between you and dealer wins.
A win pays you what you bet: a $1 bet results in $2.
A blackjack pays you one and one-half times what you bet: a $2 bet results in $3.
Another Blackjack rule is called 5 card charlie. If you draw 5 cards, and your total is 21 or less, you automatically win, regardless of what the dealer gets.
