iOS 14 Issues: Direct Touch Mode

Apple made a change in iOS 14 relating to using the screen in Direct Touch Mode.  Each time you use a Blindfold Game, you need to use the rotor to keep the phone in Direct Touch mode. Unfortunately, there are currently no technical fixes for this issue.

Prior to iOS 14, Blindfold Games put the phone into Direct Touch mode, and all of your gestures were used to operate the game.  Now with iOS 14, your gestures are processed by the voice-over gesture system unless you use the rotor to keep the phone in Direct Touch mode.  We understand this is annoying, but there is nothing we can do about that.

This issue was mentioned on the Apple Developer Forum, and Apple answered the complaint by saying that if this presents a problem, you should contact Apple.  We’re not sure which group within Apple should be contacted, but it seems like the Apple’s Accessibility Support group might be a good place to start.

If you want to contact Apple, here’s what it says on their website:

If you are a customer with a disability and utilize our accessibility features such as VoiceOver , call (877) 204–3930 for direct access to Apple representatives who are trained in providing support for these services.
